IMDB rating: 6.00 Plot: New rules enforced by the Lady Mayoress mean that sex, weight, height and intelligence need no longer be a factor for joining the Police Force. Military vs Police??
ok i am wanting to go into the USMC asap however my family thinks i should just wait until im 20 and 6 months (6 months of academy to become 21) and be a Maryland State Police Officer. Im 19 now so it will be about 1 1/2 years but thats less than 4 years for military. I need opinions on what people should think I should do. Thanks
be a cop way better job. not that i know but why would you be in the military. the military is definite paycheck but i know three people who were or are in the military and there pricks and ass holes. i don’t know why but being a cop would be better and coo.l that’s what i would do if i had to get a regular job. ps if you do sign up for the military don’t go infantry do something where you repair tanks or work on computers.

There are pro’s and con’s to either profession.
I did both. I completed a military service commitment and retired then started my civilian law enforcement career.
The advantage was I had one retirement before starting the new profession and will have a second retirement upon completion of my current job!
Your parents have a good suggestion too, however. The State Police pays much better than a municipal or county law enforcement agency. Their retirement programs are very good as well.
If you start your civilian police career at 21…you will certainly be able to retire with a decent retirement paycheck.
One final point to make too…it’s YOUR life. Do what YOU want to do! If you don’t…you’ll be miserable until you get in to the profession you truly want!
